Can you write useful and usable recommendations?

Here's a unique chance to demonstrate your usability skills to the rest of the world:

The interactive session "Recommendations on Recommendations"is part of the CHI 2007 conference in San Jose, CA, 28 April - 3 May 2007. The session will discuss the quality of recommendations for improving a user interface resulting from a usability evaluation.

We want to ensure that demonstrated practical skills in creating good recommendations are strongly represented in this interactive session. We therefore have 2-3 panel seats open for people with demonstrated abilities in writing useful and usable recommendations. We will fill these seats through a pre-conference contest. Our call for participation describes what you should do to qualify for a seat.

We will invite 2-3 authors of the submissions containing the most useful and usable recommendations to participate actively in the session. These authors will be seated on the podium together with three of the organizers and judges.

Even if you don't win a panel seat, participation in this contest should give you a good idea of how good you are at writing good recommendations and how you can improve.

The contest is open to anyone who plans to attend CHI2007.

For more information see the session abstract.

The call for participation, 10 pages, describes the pre-conference contest rules, deadlines, and the six real-world problems you must solve (one page each). See Call for participation. The contest is open to anyone who plans to attend CHI2007!
